Another hard day at the office.

Pukekohe were fifth on the table. They came with a big forward pack and intended to use their bulk. It was a great duel up front and pukekohe used their bulk to score their tries in the first half. Their scrum was dominant due to the extra pounds that their players had on our men. But....Our first five Faalae Peni aka Toi did his magic and threw a dummy and ran to the line under the posts. He converted his own points. A few minutes later he did the same thing out on the wing. He was unable to convert his try this time. He added a couple of penalties into his tally. One penalty was around the 40m mark.At half time we were down 20-24.The wind got up in the second half which was slightly benefitting Pukekohe.George Crichton scored after some great work between the forwards and backs. He busted a few tackles and went over. We were ahead 25-24 with about 8 minutes to go. The rain came and the pukekohe forwards took it in and kept driving forward one man at a time. After some torrid attempts at scoring they fumbled the ball and it was ours again. Our forwards rumbled it up the field, wearing down the clock. A rear victory was in sight.....We turned over the ball and their forwards did the same again after their backs made some ground. In the dying seconds of the game we took the ball back in a mall the ball spilled out the back, Toi grabbed it in our goal area and went to kick it out. Unfortunately there was a puke player who charged the ball down and flopped on it for the victory. The try was converted and game over.

There will be a few sore boys today from both sides.
